Chess Tarts

Chess Tarts..another great dessert recipe to try..delicious !

INGREDIENTS
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons yellow cornmeal
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated lemon peel
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 6 tablespoons cherry jam
  • Pastry for (9-inch) double-crust pie
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Take the pie shell dough and roll into 12 even balls. Press the pie shell balls into the bottom and sides of greased muffin tins.
For the filling, stir together yogurt, eggs, sugar, melted butter, milk, cornmeal, grated lemon peel, and lemon juice. Spoon the filling evenly, about 2 teaspoons each, into the shells.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the center is set. Cool.
Before serving, divide cherry jam, about each, on top. The dessert recipe is ready to serve. Great taste. Enjoy the after meals !

California Walnut Maple Tarts

INGREDIENTS
Pastry for 12 tarts
Filling:
  • 1/4 cup soft butter
  • 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped California Walnuts

INSTRUCTIONS
On lightly floured surface, roll out pastry to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut into twelve 3 3/4 inch rounds; press into large tart pans.
In medium bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Beat in maple syrup. Fold in walnuts and immediately spoon into tart shells.
Bake in 375°F oven for 15 to 18 minutes or until pastry is golden brown and filling is set. For a runnier filling, use shorter cooking time. Let cool in pan for a few minutes, then remove to rack to cool completely. The dessert recipe is ready. Enjoy it !

INGREDIENTS
Crust:
  • 1 3/4 cups crushed creme-filled chocolate cookies
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
Filling:
  • 3 bars NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Premier White Baking Bars, broken into pieces
  • 3 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 (2-ounce) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Baking Bars, grated
INSTRUCTIONS
For Crust: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Toss cookie crumbs and butter together in medium bowl. Press onto bottom of ungreased 9-inch springform pan. Bake for 10 minutes.
For Filling: Microwave white baking bars in medium, microwave-safe bowl on MEDIUM-HIGH (70%) power for 1 minute; stir. Microwave at additional 10 to 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth; cool to room temperature.
Beat cream cheese, sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until smooth. Beat in eggs. Gradually beat in melted white baking bars. Spread over chocolate crust.
Bake for 40 to 50 minutes or until edges are set but center still moves slightly. Cool in pan on wire rack; refrigerate until firm.
Sprinkle grated semi-sweet chocolate over cheesecake before serving. This nice dessert recipe is ready to serve...enjoy !

Berry Tofu Cheesecake

Berry Tofu Cheesecake...a nice dessert recipe to try !

INGREDIENTS
  • 2 cups lemon/lime soda, divided use
  • 3 packets unflavored gelatin
  • 1 cup raspberries or blueberries, rinsed
  • 4 ounces tofu, drained
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 graham cracker pie crust
INSTRUCTIONS
Combine half the soda with gelatin in a bowl; stir and set aside. Heat remaining soda then pour over gelatin and stir until dissolved.
Pour mixture into a blender; add raspberries, tofu, honey, vanilla and lemon juice. Process until smooth and creamy.
Pour into pie crust and refrigerate until firm. Garnish with additional berries, if desired, just before serving. The dessert recipe is ready...enjoy the dessert ! Makes approximately 8 servings.

Autumn Pumpkin Souffle

Autumn Pumpkin Souffle...a nice dessert recipe to try ...great one !

INGREDIENTS
  • Cooking spray or butter
  • Granulated sugar
  • 6 large eggs, separated
  • 3/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup canned solid pack pumpkin
  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • Crushed ginger snaps, optional
INSTRUCTIONS
Spray 4 (8-ounce) souffle dishes. Dust with sugar. Set aside.
In large bowl, beat egg whites with cream of tartar until foamy. Add sugar 2 tablespoons at a time, beating constantly until sugar is dissolved and whites are glossy and stand in soft peaks. Set aside. Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon-colored. Thoroughly fold in pumpkin and spice. Gently fold yolk mixture into beaten whites. Spoon into prepared dishes. Place cups in baking pan. Fill pan with very hot water to within 1/2-inch of top of dishes.
Bake in preheated 375°F oven until puffy and delicately browned, about 15 to 20 minutes.
Top with crushed gingersnaps, if desired. The dessert recipe of pumpkin souffle is ready to serve...enjoy it !

INGREDIENTS
  • 3/4 cups granulated sugar, divided use
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 tablespoon grated orange peel
  • 2/3 cup heavy cream
  • 1 (10-inch) baked tart shell
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup each lemon juice and water
  • 4 medium Washington apricots
  • 2 cups stemmed strawberries
  • 1 (11-ounce) can mandarin oranges, drained
INSTRUCTIONS
Combine 1/4 cup sugar, milk and orange peel; mix well. Add cream and beat until thickened. Spread mixture over bottom of baked tart shell.
Combine remaining sugar, cornstarch, juices and water in saucepan; mix well. Bring to boil over medium heat; cook and stir 1 minute longer. Refrigerate at least 2 hours to cool mixture.
Spoon filling over cream cheese layer in pastry. Arrange fruit over top and the dessert recipe is ready to serve....enjoy your tart....delicious !
Makes 1 (10-inch) tart.

INGREDIENTS
  • 1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon butter, softened - divided use
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup quick oats
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped nuts
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup frozen apple juice concentrate, thawed
  • 2 medium cooking apples, cored and sliced

Apple Cinnamon Glaze:
  • 1/4 cup frozen apple juice concentrate, thawed
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
In small bowl, beat 1/2 cup butter and sugar until fluffy. Add flour, oats, nuts and cinnamon; mix well. Press firmly on bottom and halfway up side of 9-inch springform pan. Bake for 10 minutes; set aside.
In large bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy. Gradually beat in sweetened condensed milk until just mixed. Add eggs and apple juice concentrate; mix well. Pour into crust in pan.
Bake 45 minutes or until center springs back when lightly touched. Cool.
In large skillet, cook apples in remaining 1 tablespoon butter until tender-crisp. Arrange on top of cheesecake; drizzle with Cinnamon Apple Glaze. Chill. Store leftovers covered in refrigerate.
For Apple Cinnamon Glaze: In small saucepan, combine apple juice concentrate, cornstarch and cinnamon and mix well. Cook and stir over medium low heat until thickened. The dessert recipe is ready to serve...great taste !

INGREDIENTS
  • 3 tart baking apples, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 cups mincemeat
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 4 teaspoons butter
  • 1/2 cup apricot jam, melted
  • 1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C).
In a bowl combine thinly sliced apples with lemon juice; tossing to coat evenly.
Spread mincemeat in unbaked pie shell; arrange the apples on top. Sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Dot with butter.
Bake for 55 to 60 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the apples are tender. Brush with melted apricot jam. The dessert recipe is ready to serve...makes 9 servings.

INGREDIENTS
  • Pastry for one-crust (9-inch) pie
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 4 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 Golden Delicious apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 3 tablespoons apple jelly
INSTRUCTIONS
Heat oven to 425°F (220°C).
On lightly floured surface, roll out pastry to 11-inch round; line a 10-inch tart pan with pastry. Lightly prick bottom with fork. Bake pastry 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Set aside.
Reduce oven heat to 375° (190°C).
In large bowl with electric mixer, beat sugar and butter until blended. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in 3 tablespoons lemon juice and the flour. Pour batter into prepared tart shell. Arrange apple slices over egg mixture. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until set.
Meanwhile, prepare glaze for tart: In small saucepan, combine remaining tablespoon lemon juice and the apple jelly. Cook over low heat, stirring, until jelly melts. Spoon glaze over warm tart. Cool completely before serving....and the dessert recipe is ready .....delicious !

Blueberry Swirl Cheesecake

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 3 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (21-ounce) can blueberry pie filling

INSTRUCTIONS
In a medium bowl blend together graham cracker crumbs, 3 tablespoons sugar, and melted butter; mix well. Press onto the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch springform pan; set aside.
Using an electric mixer softened cream cheese until light and fluffy. Gradually add 1 cup sugar; mixing well. Add in eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add in vanilla and beat well. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan. Spoon blueberry pie filling on top of the batter in a ring pattern about halfway from the edge of the cake. Pour the remaining batter on top.
Bake in a 375°F(190°C) oven for 35 to 40 minutes. Cool to room temperature on a wire rack. Loosen the crust from sides of pan and cool 30 minutes more. Remove the sides of the pan; cool cheescake completely. Cover and chill at least 4 hours before serving. The dessert recipe of blueberry cheesecake is ready to serve..hmmm...nice ! Enjoy it !

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 (8-ounce) container sour cream
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup non-dairy whipped topping
  • 1 (9-inch) graham cracker pie crust
  • 1/2 pint strawberries, hulled and sliced

INSTRUCTIONS
In a large mixing bowl beat cream cheese until softened; gradually add sugar. Blend in sour cream and vanilla until well mixed. Gently fold in non-dairy whipped topping, blending well.
Spoon into prepared graham cracker crust and chill. Garnish with sliced strawberries.

Cherry Chocolate Fondue









Another great dessert recipe....the Cherry Chocolate Fondue.... a classic delight !

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 (6-ounce) package semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup whipping cream
  • 1 (6-ounce) jar maraschino cherries, well drained and quartered (reserve juice)
  • 2 (15.25-ounce) cans Bartlett pear slices in heavy syrup, drained
  • 1 pound cake or angel food cake, cut into 1-inch cubes

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Place chocolate pieces and whipping cream in a 2-cup glass measure. Microwave for 1 minute or until chips are melted, stirring every 30 seconds. Stir in cherries and reserved cherry juice.
2. Pour chocolate mixture into fondue pot.
3. Use fondue forks or wooden picks to dip pear slices and cake cubes into chocolate mixture.

This dessert recipe is ready to serve ....what a nice taste of chocolate fondue.....great !

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, chilled
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 4 tablespoons ice water
  • 3 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs, separated
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Sift flour and salt into a large bowl; cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Mix
in 2 tablespoons sugar, egg and up to 4 tablespoons ice water to make a dough. Press into a ball and wrap in plastic wrap; refrigerate for 30 minutes.
3. On a floured surface, roll out the dough to fit a 10-inch springform pan. Place dough in the
pan without stretching. Refrigerate until ready to use.
4. Filling: Beat cream cheese until smooth in a large bowl; add remaining 1 1/4 cups sugar, egg
yolks, milk, oil, cornstarch and vanilla.
5. In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until stiff; fold into cream cheese mixture. Pour into
pastry shell.
6. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until the center is set. Turn off the oven and let the
cheesecake cool in oven with door open slightly. Remove cheesecake from pan and serve or

3. In a small pre-chilled bowl whip cream until stiff. In another mixing bowl, beat egg whites
until they form stiff peaks. Fold in egg whites and whipped cream into cheese mixture. Stir in crushed passion fruit then pour the mixture into prepared crust and bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Cool, in the oven with the door ajar, to room temperature, then chill.

INGREDIENTS:
  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar

  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 (16-ounce) can peaches in syrup, chopped
  • 1/4 cup amaretto liqueur

1. Combine butter and 1/3 cup sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Blend in 1 egg. Add 3/4 cup flour; mix well. Pat the dough onto the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan. Bake at 450°F (230°C) for 10 minutes.
2. In a bowl, combine cream cheese, 3/4 cup sugar, and 3 tablespoons flour; mixing at medium
speed with an electric mixer until well blended. Add 3 eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each
addition. Add chopped peaches (drained) and amaretto liqueur; mix well. Pour over the crust.
3. Bake at 450°F (230°C) for 10 minutes. Reduce the oven temperature to 250*F and continue baking for 1 hour and 5 minutes. Loosen the cake from the rim of the pan; cool before removing from the pan. Chill. This great dessert recipe is ready...mmm amazing taste !

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 (18.25-ounce) package spice cake mix
  • 1 large eggs
  • 1 1/3 cups water
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 (12-ounce) packages STOUFFER'S® Harvest Apples
  • 2 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup apple juice
  • 1 (8-ounce) container frozen whipped topping
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Beat spice cake mix and next 3 ingredients at medium speed with an electric mixer according to package directions. Spoon batter into a lightly greased 13 x 9-inch pan.
2. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 to 35 minutes. Cool in pan on a wire rack.
3. Thaw escalloped apples in microwave oven at MEDIUM (50% power) 6 to 7 minutes.
4. Beat cream cheese, cinnamon, and apple juice in a large bowl at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy. Stir in escalloped apples until blended. Fold in whipped topping.
5. Cut cake into 4 1/2 x 1/2-inch slices. Place one-fourth of cake in a 4 quart trifle dish or
bowl; top with 1 3/4 cups apple mixture. Repeat layers, ending with apple mixture. Chill, if
desired. Then this dessert is ready to serve your appetite....great taste !

Cranberry Whip Parfait

INGREDIENTS
  • 3 cups cooked rice
  • 4 cups milk, divided use
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup jellied cranberry sauce
  • 1 cup frozen whipped topping, thawed

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Combine rice, 3 1/2 cups milk, sugar and salt in 2-quart saucepan. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, until thick and creamy, 15 to 20 minutes.
2. Beat eggs and remaining 1/2 cup milk together. Stir into rice mixture. Cook 2 minutes
longer, stirring constantly. Add vanilla. Cool.
3. Combine cranberry sauce and whipped topping.
4. Using 1 cup parfait glasses*, alternate pudding and cranberry mixture.

Angel Food Strawberry Torte

Try this great Angel Food Strawberry Torte dessert.... a must try !

INGREDIENTS :
  • 1 package angel food cake mix
  • 1 (12-ounce) package frozen strawberries
  • 1 envelope non-dairy topping mix (dry)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

1. Prepare angel food cake mix according to package directions. Cool. Slice into thirds across
the cake (not vertically).
2. Partially thaw frozen strawberries and drain, saving 3/4 cup of the juice. Prepare non-dairy
topping mix (dry) according to the package directions and mix with the strawberries (reserving
6 strawberries to use as a garnish on the top). Spread the topping mixture between the 3 layers.
3. In a saucepan, combine cornstarch with the reserved strawberry juice and cook over medium heat until the mixture boils and begins to thicken. Arrange the reserved fruit on the top and drizzle the glaze over the top.
This great dessert is ready to roll your taste...great! Enjoy

  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 3 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese
  • 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange peel
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (6-ounce) package or 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate,melted
  • 3 tablespoons whipping cream
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).
2. Combine graham cracker crumbs, sugar, cocoa powder and butter in a small bowl; combine
thoroughly. Press firmly into a 10-inch springform pan and set aside.
3. In medium bowl, with an electric mixer at medium speed, beat the cream cheese with sugar
until light and fluffy. Beat in flour and the peels. Slowly beat in eggs, egg yolks and vanilla.
4. In a separate bowl, combine the melted chocolate with cream. Pour two-thirds of the cheesecake filling over the crust. Fold the chocolate mixture into the remaining filling until
thoroughly combined. Using a knife, swirl the chocolate filling into the plain filling to get a
marbled effect. Bake 40 minutes.
5. Turn off the oven, open the door and let the cake stand for 20 more minutes inside the oven. Cool on a rack. Refrigerate overnight.

Apricot Ice Cream

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 (12-ounce) can skimmed evaporated milk
  • 1 envelope plain gelatin
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 fresh apricots (3/4 pound), diced
  • 1 1/2 cups apricot nectar
  • 1 cup low-fat plain yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1. Combine milk and gelatin in large saucepan. Heat, stirring often, until gelatin dissolves.
2. Add sugar; heat until it dissolves. Using a wire whisk, stir in apricots, nectar, yogurt, and
vanilla. Cool.
3. Pour mixture into ice cream maker; freeze according to manufacturer's directions.
Makes about 2 quarts. The dessert is ready to serve...cool !
